Germany: New Attractions Announced for Karls Parks in Elstal and Rövershagen

Despite the conditionally limited visitor numbers due to the Corona pandemic, Robert Dahl, owner and operator of five Karl Erlebnis-Dörfer across the country, looks optimistically into the future. Shortly after the company’s expansion plans for the construction of a new site in Döbeln, Saxony had been announced (cf. EAP news of 16 Oct 2020), it is clear that the existing sites will also see further growth. “Although we have updated our investment plans and postponed or rescheduled individual investment projects for the time being, we’re basically sticking to our big plans,” says Dahl.

Visitors to Karls Erlebnis-Dörfer in Elstal (near Berlin) and Rövershagen (near Rostock) can look forward to several novelties in the 2021 season. Coming to Elstal is the new attraction “Der fliegende Regenschirm” (The flying umbrella), which will be available as of 7 May and one of Karls’ biggest and fastest adventures. The park will open a Disk’O Coaster supplied by the Italian company of Zamperla, accommodating a total of 40 passengers to whizz them through Karl’s equally new theme area “Wetterwelt” (Weather World) at up to 70 km/h at a height of 17 meters. The new adventure is to be implemented as the first part of the Weather World, which will be complemented by further new attractions step by step. For Rövershagen, a new flight experience called “Majas wilde Schwestern” (Maja’s Wild Sisters) has been announced, which is a Gerstlauer Sky Fly attraction that will be available for guests from 26 March.

Robert Dahl will also be taking a next step when it comes to branding next year: The mascot “Karlchen” gets its own radio play series! The first of a total of ten episodes will be published by the Kiddinx publishing house in May 2021 and will be available on the Toniebox. (eap)
