Germany: Odysseum Cologne Starts Exhibition On Energy

Since January 15, visitors to Cologne’s Odysseum adventure museum have the possibility to see the new special exhibition “Erlebe Energie” (Engl.: “Experience Energy”), which is presented for the first time in Germany. Covering an area of 700 square meters, the child-oriented exhibition shows how renewable resources such as water, wind, sun and biomass can be used for energy generation and how everyone of us can save energy more efficiently in the future. Furthermore, an educational playground featuring 20 interactive experience stations offers children and adults the opportunity to carry out experiments themselves and thus learn how to use sun energy or how to generate energy from an airflow.

“Erlebe Energie” was developed by the Czech Techmania Science Center in cooperation with teachers and the University of West Bohemia situated in Pilsen. “When developing the exhibits, it was of great importance to us to present the alternatives of future energy generation in a playful way to the next generation,” Vlastimil Volak, CEO of the Techmania Science Center, comments. The exhibition’s patron is Ralph Caspers, a German author and TV host. (eap)
