Germany: Small Ones with Big Impact: Serengeti-Park Hodenhagen Starts “Bug Safari“ Program
Starting today, visitors to Serengeti-Park Hodenhagen can marvel at large-scale replicas of insects such as bees, ants and earwigs on the park’s ground. The new “Bug Safari” aims at drawing guests’ attention to the important role of insects in nature by showcasing replicas of up to three meters height, which can be seen at the end of the safari tour in the own car or from the observation platform next to the white lions’ enclosure.
“We want to draw attention to the important and useful tasks of insects. Nature is a perfectly coordinated interplay of all beings, in which also the smallest ones make great impacts,” explained Dr. Fabrizio Sepe, Owner and CEO of Serengeti-Park Hodenhagen. The animal and leisure park is officially recognized as an out-of-school place of learning, offering a comprehensive pedagogical program for kindergartens and schools. The new “Bug Safari” will be included into the educational offer. (eap)
