Germany: Therme Erding Opens Virtual Reality Slide Experience
Starting today, guests to Therme Erding can finally enjoy the new VR experience in the German waterpark’s “GALAXY” slide complex (cf. our report in EAP, 5/17). On the existing “Space Glider” tube slide, bathing guests aged nine years and older can put on a waterproof VR headset to experience a virtual journey through space to discover luminous planets, giant asteroids and space shuttles. On the 160 meter long slide track they enjoy a 360 degree view in the virtual world. The all-new VR experience, including the VR headsets, runs at a total investment of approx. 300,000 Euros and was developed by Wiegand Maelzer in cooperation with the VR experts from US Ballast company.
A detailed report about the first VR slide experience at Therme Erding will be featured in EAP issue 4/18, to be published on July 1st. (eap)
