Germany: Wonnemar Builds First Resort Hotel

Since June, InterSPA Group’s first Wonnemar resort hotel is under construction in Wismar, Germany. The operator of Wonnemar health and adventure swimming pool complexes announced the hotel will be built in close proximity to Wonnemar Wismar and offer guests direct access to the pool. The hotel will include 90 rooms, each one of an area between 20 and 24 square meters. Some of the rooms will be equipped with bunk beds, matching family’s needs. Furthermore, the hotel will offer a restaurant, a terrace, a beer garden as well as a children’s and a teen’s playroom. The German consulting company Success Hotel Consult GmbH supported InterSPA while planning the project. On September 29, the foundation stone will officially be laid. The hotel is expected to open in fall 2016. Currently, InterSPA Group operates seven Wonnemar swimming pool complexes in Germany. In 2012, the youngest two facilities were opened in Backnang and Marktheidenfeld (cf. EAP, issue 6/2012). The company plans to develop further hotels which will be attached to the existing pool complexes. (eap)
