Germany: phaeno Science Center in Wolfsburg Celebrates 10th Anniversary
Opened in 2005, Wolfburg’s phaeno celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. On the occasion of this anniversary, there will be new exhibitions and news to discover at phaeno throughout the whole year: new exciting exhibition areas, numerous special offers, top events and extraordinary building illuminations are planned. On March 21, the exhibition area “OPTICKS” will be opened for visitors. The revised exhibition with its large area “light and vision” will be improved and complemented by impressive innovations. From May 14 to September 9, the special exhibition “ausgeflippt”, developed in collaboration with the Pacific Pinball Museum (USA), will show glass pinball machines that allow a glimpse into the inner workings of the electromechanical slot machines. As of October 3, the science center will show the exhibition “MechanixX” that deals with the issue of movement: balancing, juggling, yo-yo play – all of which is possible through movement. The highlight of the anniversary celebrations will be the big birthday party on November 21 and 22. (eap)
