Great Britain: Alton Towers Gets the Green Light for Enchanted Village Featuring New Guest Accommodation

Early this past May Great Britain’s Alton Towers Resort received official permission to go ahead with the construction of new accommodation facilities on the resort site. The new “Enchanted Village” will host 120 fairytale huts which can each accommodate up to five persons. Additionally, five unique luxury tree houses each with space for up to eight guests to stay overnight will be constructed, and the area will also be furnished with children’s play areas and a brand new family-friendly theme restaurant. The forest area near the resort’s Alton Towers Hotel has been selected as the site for the Enchanted Village. Construction is scheduled to start during the course of this year with the village opening in the spring of 2015. (eap)
