Hamburg’s Hagenbeck Zoo Starts into Peak Season

(eap) Last Saturday, Hagenbeck Zoo in Hamburg heralded the start of the 2025 main season. Since then, visitors have been able to visit the park again until 6 p.m. and the summer feedings, during which the Kamchatka bears, among others, can be admired, have begun. The entrance at Gazellenkamp has also been open since Saturday and the handcart rental service at the main entrance is also open again, weather permitting.

Visitors can also look forward to a range of events this season. These include various vacation activities for the youngest visitors, such as “Meeresforscher im Einsatz” (Engl.: Marine Explorer in Action), “Polarforscher im Einsatz” (Polar Explorer in Action) and “Kleiner Tierpfleger” (Little Zookeeper), in which kids have the opportunity to slip into the role of a marine or polar explorer or zookeeper and learn more about animal welfare through play. In addition, this year the new special tours on the subject of “Animal Generations” are being offered, aimed at seniors who would like to go on an exploration tour with the LI Zoo School and learn more about family structures in the animal kingdom. Another highlight are the “Jungle Nights 2025”. On three dates, visitors can expect a mix of music, acrobatics and dance including walk acts, a hands-on program for children and new artists. ■
