Harry Potter Studio Tour Comes to Shanghai

(eap) The US film and television company Warner Bros. and the Chinese tourism and hospitality group Jinjiang International have signed an agreement that will bring the “Harry Potter Studio Tour” visitor attraction known from London (and since 2023 also from Tokyo) to Shanghai. The Studio Tour will offer visitors a look behind the scenes of the Harry Potter films, including replicas of famous scenes.

The attraction, which is planned to cover an area of around 53,000 square meters, is to be built in Shanghai as part of a Jinjiang Group-operated theme park. This in turn is first set to undergo a large-scale renovation work and is due to reopen in 2027. The Harry Potter Studio Tour in Shanghai will be the third visitor attraction of its kind in the world after London and Tokyo. So far, Potter fans in China have already been able to immerse themselves in the “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” at Universal Studios Beijing. ■
