Haßloch, Germany: The Development of the Holiday Park
After the acquisition of the Holiday Park by Plopsa at the end of October, now further details concerning future development perspectives emerge. In the center of 2011 stands without doubt the 40th anniversary of the park that welcomes around one million visitors each year. Plopsa plans to increase visitor numbers up to 1.5 million guests until 2016. During this period, investments of around 25 million Euros for renovations and new attractions are on the agenda. Regarding the future theming, Plopsa or Studio 100 related characters like Maya the Bee, Vicky the Viking and Tabaluga are in focus. This would indicate a bigger change in the theming. The Holiday Park is planned to become Plopsa’s German headquarters what implies any new establishments within Germany. Further 25 million Euros are said to be budgeted for such investments particularly for indoor facilities. (eap)
