Heide Park to Open Germany’s First Wing Coaster
As the park recently announced, Germany’s Heide Park Resort will open a wing coaster for its 2014 season. Besides “Raptor”, opened in 2011 at Gardaland, and “The Swarm”, opened one year later at Thorpe Park, the new rollercoaster will be the third wing coaster from B&M in Europe – and the first one in Germany. Merlin’s Heide Park invests 15 million Euros in this new attraction, in which passengers aged ten and older will be able to reach heights of 40 meters and speeds of up to 100 km/h. The 772 meter long coaster is being built in the park’s “Transylvania” theme zone on an around 13,000 square meter large area. (eap)
