Israel: Jewish Culture Theme Park to Be Built in Negev Desert?
According to recent Israeli media reports there are plans to rise a 25 hectare large theme park named Pla’im Park, featuring a Jewish culture theming, in the Negev desert close to the Israeli city of Dimona. Local business people around Rabbi Yosef Zwi Rimon and foreign investors are behind this project, which is scheduled to be completed by 2023.
According to the reports, highlights of Israel’s first theme park complex supposedly designed by American ITEC company will include a book-themed rollercoaster, a “Sabbath” boat journey and an observation platform in shape of the biblical Jacob’s ladder. Furthermore there will be a water park, a crazy golf course, hotels and a hostel.
The indicated total investment sum varies from around 300 million US-Dollar (approx. 214 million Euros) to over 400 million US-Dollar (approx. 323 million Euros). In a teaser published on YouTube Israeli singer and artist Yehoram Gaon is promoting the planned park destination. (eap)
