James “Chip” Cleary Appointed IAAPA President and CEO

At the beginning of March the IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) named James “Chip” Cleary President and CEO effective from April 4, 2011. Cleary started his career in 1978 at Adventureland Amusement Park in Farmingdale, New York and has been working in the attractions industry for 30 years – most recently he worked as Senior Vice President of the Water Park Division at Palace Entertainment. In 2010 Chip Cleary was Chairman of the Board of Directors at IAAPA, were he has been an active volunteer in IAAPA serving in different positions for virtually 15 years. He takes up the new position as Charlie Bray’s successor who resigned as President and CEO in December of the last year.
