Lake Compounce Announces Restoration of Historic “Wildcat” Roller Coaster
(eap) U.S. theme park Lake Compounce (Connecticut), operated by Palace Entertainment (part of Parques Reunidos), announced that the 96-year-old wooden roller coaster “Wildcat” will be overhauled and put back into operation in 2024. In the restoration process, the coaster will receive a new track, which should ensure a smoother ride in the future. However, the classic wooden coaster character of the nearly 100-year-old Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters roller coaster will be preserved. The coaster will be equipped with a vertically stacked track from The Gravity Group, which will utilize its Engineered Precut Track here.
Just this season, the park’s other wooden roller coaster “Boulder Dash” reopened with a new “Titan Track” section from Great Coasters International. ■
