Lancashire / England: Wallace & Gromit are Coming to Pleasure Beach!

The well-known characters "Wallace & Gromit" from the British animated short film series of the same name by Nick Park will enter Pleasure Beach Blackpool in 2013. The Wallace & Gromit-themed dark ride "Thrill-O-Matic", a family ride, which required an investment of 5.25 million British Pounds (about 6.5 million Euros), replaces the "Gold Mine" dark ride which closed at the end of the 2011 season. The design and engineering team of Pleasure Beach and the British animation studio Aardman Animations Ltd., which is known for the creation of Wallace & Gromit, are together working on the ride which will take visitors on a four minute-journey through scenes taken from "A Grand Day Out", "The Wrong Trousers", "A Close Shave" and "A Matter of Loaf and Death". A shop with Wallace & Gromit merchandise articles will also be available at the new attraction. (eap)
