Lion Ridge Opens at West Midland Safari Park: Experience Lions up Close
(eap) West Midland Safari Park in Bewdley in Worcestershire, England, is not only celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, but also the opening of a new lion enclosure and associated overnight accommodations. The new attraction, called “Lion Ridge”, is located in the “African Village” area of the park and allows visitors to observe lions up close. There are four male lions, all of whom were born at the park in 2019.
Matching the number of lions, the same number of “Lion Lodges” has been opened right next to the facility. Here, guests can see the lions from their bedroom or living room and fall asleep “next to” them. Each of the four lodgings is detached and accommodates up to six guests. To celebrate the new construction, the park is running an event programme called “Roar & Explore” throughout August: Families can participate in a variety of lion-themed activities, such as a photo contest and a multi-sensory explorer quest. ■
