Lotte World Waterpark to be Built in Korea
Lotte Group, operator of one of the world’s largest indoor theme parks, plans to open a new 22 million dollar (about 16.7 million euro) waterpark in Kimhae, near Busan. The custom-designed Polynesian-themed waterpark is expected to be completed in May 2013. The new facility will have indoor as well as outdoor attractions which will all be engineered, manufactured and installed by WhiteWater West. The array of waterslides will include two MEGAtube rides, namely a Family Rattler and a Family Python, a Family Boomerango, an AquaLoop, an Abyss funnel slide, a Family Raft Ride, Dueling Master Blasters, an 8-lane Whizzard mat ride as well as speed and body slides. In addition there will also be installed a Surf Wave Pool outdoor as well as an indoor Family Wave Pool. A FlowRider Double as well as two interactive AquaPlay multi-level play structures will round off the attraction mix. (eap)
