Madame Tussauds Opened in Sydney

Merlin Entertainments Group opened its new Madame Tussauds Sydney attraction in mid-April (cf. EAP news from April 7, 2011). The Australian collection of over 70 figures on display is located in Darling Harbor, a large recreational and pedestrian precinct also hosting many other attractions like Wild Life Sydney or Sydney Aquarium. The latest addition to Merlin’s Sydney attractions is the thirteenth Madame Tussauds attraction worldwide and the fifth in the Asia Pacific region. Besides some of the most influential, powerful and talented personalities in the world, including Queen Elizabeth II, Barack Obama and Oprah Winfrey, of course a lot of Australian celebrities like Cate Blanchett, Kylie Minogue or Formula 1 driver Mark Webber are part of the attraction as well.
