Merger of Larson International & Rocky Mountain Construction
Roller coaster manufacturer Larson International, founded in 1967, and Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC), founded in 2001, have announced their merger. The two manufacturers have already realized joint projects in recent years. Now the two companies want to join forces permanently and will operate as one organization for this purpose in the future. Company locations will be in Hayden, Idaho and Plainview, Texas – both were previously sole sites of the respective companies. The employees of both companies will be taken over. Only Jeff Novotny, who has worked for Larson International for more than 30 years and been the owner of the company since 2006, is retiring. In his place, his son Hunter Novotny will be an integral part of the company merger. The new organization will be led by Darren Torr, president and CEO of RMC. Company founder Fred Grubb already retired in 2021.
“I am excited to bring together these two incredible organizations. Our values are closely aligned, an I look forward to future success by putting out incredible rides, providing a great value, and treating our customers and crew members like family. Additionally, I’m looking forward to being located closer to the National Roller Coaster Museum and Archives and supporting their mission,” said Torr. Located behind Larson International's corporate headquarters in Plainview, the National Roller Coaster Museum’s mission is to preserve the historic legacy of roller coasters and pass it on to current and future generations.
