(v.l.n.r.): Steve Shears, Site Search & Acquisitions Director, die Madame Tussauds-Wachsfiguren des Herzogs und der Herzogin von Cambridge, Yan Yan, President Soho China und Barry Cox, Director New Business Development (Asia).

British global leisure enterprise Merlin Entertainments is set to open Madame Tussauds Beijing next year in China’s capital city. This will be the 16th Madame Tussauds worldwide and the fourth one in China after Shanghai, Hong Kong and Wuhan. The new wax figure museum will be erected in the heart of the city near Tiananmen Square. Merlin has entered into a joint venture with Beijing-based development company SOHO China, founded in 1995, to create this new multi-million RMB leisure attraction. Both companies are convinced that the new attraction will add a completely new dimension to Beijing’s entertainment scene. (eap)
