Minifigure Skyflyer: Legoland New York Gets Cable Car
(eap) LEGOLAND® New York Resort, operated by Merlin Entertainments, is getting a cable car that will transport visitors between the different park areas from this summer on. The gondolas of “The Minifigure Skyflyer” will be decorated with various LEGO® motifs such as Lego Pirates, Space or Disco. Not only the exterior of the gondolas are getting a Lego design, but the interior will also be themed and additionally equipped with sound to transport visitors from one spot to another in a special way.
Both the queuing and the disembarking areas will also receive a special theming, here with interactive elements. Visitors will be able to “charge” the gondolas using hand cranks before boarding and to unpack their best dance moves on a staged dance floor while disembarking. All gondolas will be designed to be ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)-accessible and offer space for up to ten persons each. In order to draw attention on the new means of transport, which will be an attraction at the same time, Legoland New York has already equipped two gondolas in the nearby Belleayre Mountain ski area with a Lego Pirate Party motif.
“There’s a lot to enjoy at Legoland New York, but it’s a big Resort and our fans asked us for more ways to move easily from the upper and lower levels of the park,” explains Divisional Director of Legoland New York, Stephanie Johnson. “We take our guests’ feedback seriously and the Minifigure Skyflyer gives them a way to do exactly that while igniting creativity, sparking imagination, and inspiring movement through disco and dance.” ■
