Mourning the Loss of Vitaplan Thermal Bath CEO Horst Kiesel †

(eap) The waterpark and pool industry mourns the death of Horst Kiesel, the managing partner of Vitaplan Thermalbad GmbH & Co. KG, who died in a tragic accident last week. The 69-year-old led the indoor sports pool and sauna at Scherbsgraben in Middle Franconia (Germany), from which the Fürthermare thermal spa and leisure pool emerged in 2007. During the construction phase of Fürthermare, Kiesel met Rainer Grasberger, with whom he had managed the Franconian leisure pool since its opening in October 2007. Horst Kiesel is described by his companions as an empathetic host who was always present at Fürthermare and all along had an open ear for the wishes and concerns of the guests and employees. He was the “soul of our company”, says Rainer Grasberger about Horst Kiesel. The industry joins the bereaved in mourning the loss of a generous man with a big heart. ■
