(eap) A new “sugar-sweet” visitor attraction is set to open in Dubai this month: The Museum of Candy, where visitors can discover a total of 15 themed rooms centered around cotton candy, gummy bears, lollipops, ice cream and other popular sweet treats. The 60- to 90-minute experience includes candy stations where visitors can discover uniquely crafted candies that are rare to find anywhere else, as well as a “cotton candy bath” and a “gummy bear pool”. Fun and educational facts about the history and present of popular sweets are just as much a part of the visitor offer as games, interactive screens and photo points. Of course, visitors can also enjoy a wide selection of sweet treats in the museum café.

“Dubai has always been home to brilliant ideas and tourist attractions backed by technology, science, and innovation. We simply wanted to add to the region’s landscape with a pop of colour and a whole lot of sweetness. We want everyone to stop by for some delightful moments, enjoy our slide of sweetness, engage in interactive experiences, and relive their childhood, while having a great time,” says the team behind the Museum of Candy. The coming new attraction, which is planned to open this month, claims itself to be “the world’s first museum of candy”.

“Sweet” experiences as stand-alone attractions (in contrast to candy-themed worlds in theme parks etc.) can also be found elsewhere, but not with the same name or concept. In Madrid, for example, there is the Sweet Space Museum (located in the ABC Serrano shopping center), while Lisbon, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo each have locations of The Sweet Art Museum. ■
