New Houses for PortAventura Dreams Village
© Fundación PortAventura (eap) Thanks to an investment of 2.5 million euros, the Dreams Village at the Spanish theme park resort PortAventura World, where families with children who are suffering or recovering from a serious illness can spend a week for joy and rest, has been expanded by four new houses. This increases the total capacity of the Dreams Village to more than 400 families per year. Medical committees from three cooperating clinics – including the Sant Joan de Déu Mother and Child Hospital in Barcelona – are involved in the selection process of the families, who are offered to enjoy carefree moments during their stay at PortAventura and help them achieve their therapy and medical treatment goals.
Ramón Marsal, President of the PortAventura Foundation, underlines the importance of the offer: “We are very proud to present the expansion of PortAventura Dreams Village. Since its inception in 2019, we have contributed to the recovery of a thousand children and their families, and with the four new houses that we are now able to present, we will welcome hundreds more families. The expansion was an absolute priority and we are delighted that it is now coming to fruition.” The main partners for Dreams Village and its latest expansion are Transgourmet Ibérica and the La Caixa Foundation. “Without their invaluable contribution and unconditional support, PortAventura Dreams Village and everything it stands for could not continue to grow,” emphasizes Marsal. Including the four new houses, there are now a total of ten accommodation units available. In addition, Dreams Village has recently added a new water playground as well as new gardens and relaxation areas. ■
