New Lowis Body Solutions for All-electric Cenntro Utility Vehicle
(eap) Fahrzeugbau Lowis, based in Heinsberg, Germany, has developed a “multi-in-1” modular solution for the all-electric “Logistar 200” utility vehicle from manufacturer Cenntro, which is based on a platform chassis and can be combined with a wide variety of body solutions. Specifically, the manufacturer is presenting the first two Logistar 200 based on the multi-in-1 solution with rear tipper and modular waste collection attachment, as required for gardening and landscaping work or other manual applications, e.g. in (leisure/animal) parks.
The subframe, tipper body and drop sides of the rear tipper are made of aluminum with a height of 400 mm. The loading area has a fixed cab guard (made of dropside profiles and mesh insert) with integrated lashing system. Thanks to the modular design, lattice extensions, dropside extensions and tarpaulin frames can be easily attached. The tipper floor is made of aluminum checker plate with four lashing eyes in the corners. To avoid having to use the electric transporter’s traction battery during tipping operations, Lowis has installed a self-sufficient tipping system consisting of its own load battery, hydraulic pump and hydraulic cylinder. This allows the 2,100 mm long and 1,600 mm wide loading area to be tipped and lowered without affecting the vehicle’s range. The tipper’s control unit is mounted on the outside of the body frame and is watertight. The unladen weight of the Logistar 200 with rear tipper is around 1,480 kg. This gives the electric commercial vehicle a payload of 1,070 kg.
The conversion from a rear tipper to a tiltable waste collection vehicle takes just a few minutes by removing the drop sides and stanchions at the rear. The waste collection body, which is made of aluminum, is then bolted to the loading area and can then be easily removed again. The floor of the collection body is designed as a watertight tray, which prevents contamination of the vehicle and the environment. The waste collection body has an automatically opening rear flap with gas spring support and can be configured with sliding side doors on one or both sides. ■
