New Zealand: The All Black Experience Offers Rugby-Dedicated Visitor Experience

In New Zealand, rugby is the national sport number one. Since the end of 2020, the The All Black Experience in Auckland has been offering a new interactive visitor experience completely dedicated to this sports, which is played with an egg-shaped leather ball almost like it is being used for American Football. The “All Black“ is the national rugby team of New Zealand which also includes the “Black Ferns“ women's national team.

During the 45-minute-long experience, visitors walk through four interactive zones and one additional “haka“ experience in front of a four-metre-large screen. The “haka“ are ritual dances of the Maori, which the All Black teams celebrate before every rugby match. Dame Julie Christie, Board Chairman of The All Black Experience, says: “This is a huge milestone and after a challenging year for everyone, we are really proud to be able to launch this amazing experience for all – weather you’re a long-time rugby fan, new to the game, or just wanting to do something new and exciting.“

Former professional and national team player Josh Kronfield comments: “The All Black Experience is the next closest thing you can get to being an All Black. Face the haka, learn the history and understand what it takes to become an All Black.“ (eap)
