New at Puroland: Interactive Theatre “Cinnamoroll’s Little Big Adventure”

(eap) The Sanrio Puroland amusement park in Tokyo Prefecture comprises various attractions based around Sanrio characters such as “Hello Kitty”, “Keroppi”, “Chococat”, “My Melody” and “Cinnamoroll”. The new experience “Cinnamoroll’s Little Big Adventure” was named after the latter. This is an Interactive Theatre attraction in which visitors embark on a five-minute long adventure through the sky, chasing rainbows and overcoming obstacles together.

The hall used for this was divided into two parts, each with a screen and 35 motion-based seats, including two seats for wheelchair users and a bench in the front row for small children. Visitors can use their Magic Star Wands to aim at interactive elements on the screen and collect points. At the end of the experience, the faces of the most accurate players are then projected onto the theatre screen. Despite the use of interactive shooting mechanics, the focus of the experience is on the narrative elements. The attraction’s interactive technology was developed by Belgian company Alterface.

“This is Puroland park’s first new attraction in more than a decade,” says Stéphane Battaille, CEO of Alterface. “It is a delightful story-based ride with audience engagement at key moments that asks and answers several questions: Why is a rainbow so beautiful? What is it made of? The adventure creates a strong emotional connection between the guests, the lovable game characters and this sense of wonder.”

Thanks to the use of the dual theatre approach, the attraction has a total capacity of more than 600 people per hour. ■
