New at the San Diego Zoo: RIO Rainforest Adventure

 “RIO Rainforest Adventure” is the name of the adventure area opened late this past September at the San Diego Zoo in California. Taking its cue from the 2011 3D animated film “Rio” (produced by Blue Sky Studios in collaboration with Fox Animation), visitors to the Californian zoo can now enjoy the adventure of the two macaws, “Blu” and “Jewel”. Together with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products and the San Diego Zoo, this new 12-minute 4D theater presentation “Rio: The 4D Experience” was produced by the 3D/4D film specialists at SimEx-Iwerks and is housed in a building that was already on the zoo site. This 4D cinema is the central attraction here, surrounded by a rainforest adventure world featuring real animals, a waterfall and samba music to bring that unique Rio de Janeiro feeling to California.
