Rainforest Wild Asia is Open to the Public

(eap) Rainforest Wild Asia, the fifth wildlife park of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve in Singapore, has recently opened its gates for the first time. In the new 13-hectare park, visitors can go on a journey of animal discovery in rainforest areas. “Rainforest Wild Asia captures the essence of a rainforest adventure, inviting you to fully engage with nature and discover wildlife in unexpected corners. The multi-layered experience encourages park-goers to explore a Southeast Asian rainforest up in the tree canopy, on the forest floor and below the ground in a network of cave chambers. Visitors can choose between universally designed walkways, more challenging forest treks, or an array of guided adventures”, says Mike Barclay, CEO of Mandai Wildlife Group.

In addition to 29 different animal species, visitors can also experience a range of action-packed activities. These include Adventure+ and Black Adventure offers, which are operated by Forest Adventure. Adventure+ offers two different activities: on the one hand “Canopy Jump”, where guests jump from a 13 or 20-meter-high platform to experience a free fall, and on the other hand “AIA Vitality Bounce”, an open-air bounce play area that offers various game elements at a height of three to seven meters.

“The opening of Rainforest Wild Asia marks an exciting milestone in the wider transformation of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve to become a world-leading nature and wildlife destination. We look forward to welcoming about 900,000 guests during the first year of operations,” adds Barclay.

Furthermore, the Mandai Wildlife Group had two reasons to celebrate: the opening of Rainforest Wild Asia also marked the first birth of a Philippine spotted deer, one of the rarest deer species in the world, which can be found in the wild on the Visayan Islands of the Philippines. ■
