Siam Park Wins Liseberg Applause Award as First Water Park

(eap) The “Applause Award”, which has been presented every two years since 1980 by the Swedish theme park Liseberg, was presented to Siam Park this year. It is the first time that a water park receives this prestigious recognition. “With an original and creative vision, the Kiessling family has created an outstanding water park destination with Siam Park,” says Andreas Veilstrup Andersen, President and CEO of Liseberg Group and Chairman of The Applause Award Board of Governors. “The park is combining exceptional experiences, immaculate operations and innovative sustainability-solutions into a park that for many years has been voted the number one water park in the world.” Just last year, “Saifa”, an exciting dueling PIPElineBLAST Water Coaster opened at Siam Park, for which manufacturer ProSlide received a “Brass Ring Award” by IAAPA.

The Applause Award was presented on March 3 in Las Vegas as part of the “IAAPA Honors”. From this year onwards, the award will be broadened to include other types of attractions – for example water parks, zoos and resorts – that meet the award criteria. In addition, the award will be presented annually instead of every second year to a leisure facility. ■
