Sölden, Austria: Mountain Summers and Alpine Pastures – Adventure Tourism Concepts in Nature
Since this summer, “Almzeit Sölden” has beckoned visitors to play, have fun, rejuvenate and enjoy. Fourteen cabins and pastures are involved in this concept and present their diversity in the form of special attractions revolving around the theme of “time” along the new themed hiking path through the alpine pastures high above Sölden. The “Almzeit” concept, developed by Input Projektentwicklungs GmbH, was created together with Austrian company Sunkid and morphed into a detailed concept. The individual attractions are put into place by Sunkid in collaboration with their partner, Almholz. Besides large information signs, a line of 3-meter-tall letters spells out “Almzeit” [pasture time]. These are equipped with a slide as well as places to climb and recline. A fitness trail awaits with twelve exciting stations where both young and old can test their abilities. In this way, the pasture gained giant wooden lettering that is completely interactive for play and that is also eye-catching from afar.
The project was carried out by the 14 participating cabin owners, the local committee for the Ötztal tourism association, and the Sölden mountain railways. (eap)
