South Korea: Jack Rouse Associates to Provide Planning, Design and Project Management for Lionsgate Movie World
South Korea’s Jeju Island will be home to the large-scale Jeju Shinhwa World leisure resort complex, including Lionsgate Movie World as the world’s first outdoor theme park exclusively themed on popular Lionsgate blockbuster movies (cf. EAP news from August 22nd, 2017). Initial plans for the park announced seven theme areas, also featuring “Robin Hood”, one of the latest Lionsgate productions to be premiered in cinemas in late 2018. However, the current state of planning foresees a total of six theme areas, which will be based on successful blockbuster movies such as “The Hunger Games” and “Saw”.
Cincinnati/Ohio-based Jack Rouse Associates design company has been commissioned with the planning, design and project management for Lionsgate Movie World, for which construction works are scheduled to begin this year. The park is now set to open in 2020. (eap)
