Spain: “Angkor: Adventure in the Lost Kingdom” –The New Ride at PortAventura for 2014

Salou, Spain’s PortAventura theme park resort will see the opening of the brand-new ride “Angkor: Adventure in the Lost Kingdom” for the upcoming season starting on April 11, 2014. The track of the new family attraction, a Splash Battle delivered from Germany’s Mack Rides company, will be 300 meters long and hence, according to the park, be one of the longest boat ride attractions in Europe. It will be located in the park’s China theme area, near the “Shambhala” rollercoaster. The ride takes passengers on a journey through the Asian jungle on which they can discover mysterious villages, snakes that rise from the river, tigers, monkeys and temple ruins … but guests have to watch out, it is not without reason that the boats are equipped with water cannons … The design of the whole attraction, which covers an area of 10,500 square meters, is inspired by the Cambodian temple of Angkor Wat.
