Spain: Aqualandia Benidorm Announces New Large-Scale Attraction for 2018
Spain’s Aqualandia water park, which is located in Benidorm/Valencia next to the Mundomar animal park and near Terra Mítica, has announced to open a new large-scale attraction this coming June. Under the name of “Cyclón” (“Cyclone”) the new 36 meter high funnel slide will offer sliding fun on a more than 200 meter long – and partly covered – track comprised of several twists, turns and sudden drops. In four-person rafts, sliders will finally rush into a large funnel section with 20 meters in diameter, featuring an inclination of 45 degrees, in which they will experience a moment of zero gravity.
“Cyclón” will be the first new major attraction at the park since the opening of the “Verti-Go” free fall slide in 2013 – construction works are set to begin this month. Aqualandia Benidorm, which was founded in 1985 and today comprises a line-up of more than 20 aquatic attractions, is one of Europe’s largest and oldest water parks offering splashing fun for families, youngsters and thrill-seekers.
