Tenerife/Spain: Loro Parque Launches New Jellyfish Exhibition
Loro Parque, located in the north of the Canary Island Tenerife, has been continuously developed and modernized since its opening back in 1972. Founded by the German Wolfgang Kiessling, the zoo park, which had originally been designed as a parrot park, today offers a tropical garden with animal enclosures, aviaries, aquariums and numerous shows and play areas. A new jellyfish exhibition is the newest attraction that was inaugurated recently. These fascinating aquatic invertebrates offer guests a colorful underwater show. The 5,000 square meter large exhibition even includes some very special specimen, such as dotted jellyfish, sea nettles or fried egg jellyfish, and features animals from all oceans of the world. Of the total of 65,000 liters of seawater 25,000 liters are solely used for the jellyfish and its breeding areas. The new enchanting attraction at Tenerife’s largest zoo park is open now! (eap)
