The Netherlands: Madurodam Opens „New Amsterdam“ Attraction
This month, the Madurodam miniature park located in the Dutch city of Den Haag opens its new, interactive “New Amsterdam” theme area, where visitors can discover the roots of New Amsterdam – today known as New York City. The place brings visitors back to the 17th century, when the ship “The Gilded Beaver” (Dutch: “De Vergulde Bever”) sets sail in Amsterdam to cross the ocean towards the New World. Once the guests arrive in the harbor, they become part of a navy battle and can roll up their sleeves to fire cannons themselves. All parts of the new attraction have been designed and produced by Madurodam to create a fully immersive visitor experience. (eap)
