Thermen & Badewelt Sinsheim Submits Building Application for Large-Scale Expansion
For ten years now, the Thermen & Badewelt Sinsheim, located near Heidelberg in the northwest of Baden-Württemberg, has been attracting recreation-seekers to its palm paradise, its vitality spa and sauna, and the adjoining sports pool. The spa complex, which belongs to the Josef Wund Thermengruppe, now owned by the Josef Wund Foundation – has concretized the expansion it has been announcing for some time and submitted the building applications to the town of Sinsheim. The Thermen & Badewelt facility is to be doubled in its current size – an addition of a floor area of more than 50,000 square meters, over 1,300 palm trees and more than 4,000 square meters of pool area are planned. In addition to new health and wellness areas, the first phase of construction will include further dining and treatment facilities. In the second construction phase, a diverse slide paradise is to be created, which will expand the offer for families. A specific date for the start of construction has not yet been set, but initial work is expected to begin in 2024.
“With the planning of the next construction phase in Sinsheim, we are living up to our claim as the leading thermal spa operator in Germany and Europe. We will realize a new dimension of a feel-good and recreational world that will have an impact far beyond the region and attract guests,” says Managing Director Edelfried Balle, specifying the ambitions of the Josef Wund Thermal Group for the expansion. “In doing so, we are consistently focusing on the concept of a vacation destination that guests can visit for hours or even a day, comfortably and without a long journey, for their relaxation and well-being.” (eap)
