Travellers’ Choice Award for Europa-Park
Rust, Germany’s Europa-Park recently received an overall score of 9 in the “Leisure Check” article featured in the latest issue of Germany’s stern magazine to take the top prize among 50 German amusement parks that were tested. The scale for the test ran from 1 (Poor) to 10 (Couldn’t be better). Europa-Park owner Roland Mack commented happily, “We’re proud of taking First Place in the ‘stern’ ranking”. Europa-Park welcomed some 4.5 million visitors in 2012. And as if that wasn’t enough, almost simultaneously Europa-Park additionally received the coveted international Travellers’ Choice Award as well. The Travellers’ Choice Awards for attractions in 2013 premiers some 1,260 landmarks, parks, museums and amusement parks. Travel website TripAdvisor announced the winners of this prestigious award this past June 25th. The 94 hectare Europa-Park topped the amusement park category not just for Germany, but also took top honors for the whole of Europe. In the international ranking, Europa-Park was only nosed out by Discovery Cove in Orlando, Florida. Europa-Park’s management responded by releasing a statement declaring, “It is wonderful to see that TripAdvisor users not only love our hotel resort, but also have such high praise for Europa-Park itself”. The winners of the Travellers’ Choice Awards for attractions in 2013 were selected on the basis of millions of travel enthusiasts’ ratings for the attractions listed on TripAdvisor in the respective categories. The ratings were evaluated over a twelve-month period. (eap)
