UAE: “The World of the Hunger Games“ Theme Area at motiongateTM Dubai Now Open

This past Friday, motiongate^TM Dubai, a movie-based theme park belonging to Dubai Parks and Resorts (cf. EAP, 6/16 & EAP news from September 28^th, 2015), officially opened the “The World of the Hunger Games” theme area for park visitors.

The new area is based on the Lionsgate “The Hunger Games” franchise and takes guests on a journey to the dystopian world of Panem and its 13 districts, immersing them into the role of the movie’s main characters. In addition to a replication of the movie set and exclusive video content, two main attractions await visitors: the “Capitol Bullet Train” half-pipe rollercoaster from Mack Rides, simulating a journey in the high-speed capitol train well-known out of the movies, as well as the “Panem Aerial Tour” 4D-hovercraft motion ride from Holovis. Furthermore, the new theme area features a spectacular street entertainment show, a shopping outlet with branded merchandise and a café. Orlando-based Falcon’s Creative Group has been responsible for the master planning of the entire theme area as well as for the design of its two main attractions.

With the new realm, motiongate^TM Dubai, which is owned by DXB Entertainments and operated by Spain’s Parques Reunidos group, extends its movie-based entertainment landscape which features productions of the Columbia Pictures, DreamWorks Animation and Lionsgate film studios. (eap)
