UAE: Dubai Launches Spectacular New Water Attraction: The Palm Fountain
Yesterday saw the grand opening of the new The Palm Fountain Dubai water show attraction, which spans an area of over 1,300 square meters (14,000 square feet) of sea water at the waterfront of Palm Jumeirah island in Dubai and is thus the currently largest artificial fountain in the world, officially registered by Guinness World Records.
Developed by Nakheel Properties, a state-owned project development and real estate company headquartered in Dubai, The Palm Fountain Dubai is set to enthuse visitors to the restaurant and lifestyle strip The Pointe on Palm Jumeirah in the evening hours, staging spectacular colorful and musically underscored water shows. A total of 128 “super shooters” shoot up the water streams to a max. height of 105 meters. More than 3,000 LED lights illuminate the three-minute spectacle, which takes place every 30 minutes starting with the sunset until midnight, 365 days a year. (eap)
