UK: “Pegasus Flying Theatre” – Simworx Presents New, Scalable Solution
Simworx, the British specialist for media-based attractions and motion simulators, recently unveiled a new flying theater product that the manufacturer calls “Pegasus Flying Theatre”. The new product in the supplier’s portfolio is a dynamic, scalable ride solution that is suitable for venues of all types, regardless of their capacity or size, due to its flexible, customizable design, according to the vendor. Guests sit astride individual seats (similar to a motorbike) that are lined up side-by-side with some spacing in front of the projection screen. While leaning slightly forward with their hands on either side of the front handlebars, guests are secured from behind in the lower back area by a bar. The concept is strongly reminiscent of the flight simulator attraction “Avatar Flight of Passage” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Various special effects such as water spray, wind, smoke and light can round out the experience. In addition, the seats can be equipped with an interactive flashing button to allow guests to intervene in the story on the screen. The seats can be spread over several floors of differing widths.
“By creating a flying theatre experience that can be customised to a park’s specific building size requirement, we create a more accessible attraction that gives parks with more limited footprints and budgets a greater opportunity to offer guests a flying experience. While its flexibility means that we can also offer any number of seats – 12, 18, 24, 36, 48, 60, etc. – to accommodate the seating requirements for each specific customer,” comments Simworx CEO, Terry Monkton.
