UK: Alton Towers to Open Rollercoaster Restaurant
Visitors to Alton Towers can look forward to an exciting season 2016: The British amusement park announced that in addition to the flying coaster “Galactica” (cf. EAP News from January 13, 2016) it will open a new restaurant this year, which is currently under construction at the “Forbidden Valley” area. The “Rollercoaster Restaurant” will feature 13 tables, which are located below a 400-meter long steel track. Thus, diners will have the possibility to watch their order looping two loops before dropping down an eight-meter tornado spiral to their tables. “The new Rollercoaster Restaurant will offer guests a unique dining experience that they can’t find anywhere else in the UK,” says Gill Riley, Marketing Director at Alton Towers.
Guests to the Rollercoaster Restaurant, which is operated by Merlin Group and based on HeineMack’s concept, can look forward to a selection of popular family foods. The restaurant will also be open in the evening hours and can be used by park and hotel guests as well as by external visitors. (eap)
