UK: Mattel Play! Liverpool – New FEC Opens in Spring

The end of this spring will see the opening of Europe’s first Mattel Play! family entertainment center in the British city of Liverpool. The 1,200-square meter center will be located in the Grand Hall at the Albert Dock. Mattel Play’s three interactive themed areas are based on HIT Entertainment’s brands “Thomas & Friends™”, “Bob the Builder™” and “Fireman Sam™”, which have been part of the US toy manufacturer Mattel’s brand portfolio since an acquisition in 2012. All of the models and exhibits for the family entertainment center have been constructed in Finland. Mattel Play! will be operated by Heritage Great Britian plc., which already operates several further visitor attractions in the UK. The investment volume for the project amounts to 1.5 million GBP (around 1.9 million euros). (eap)
