USA: “Urban Air” FEC in Aurora with Family-Friendly VR Experience
In the new Urban Air Aurora Family Entertainment Center, located in Aurora, Colorado (USA), which opened its doors on October 23rd this year, families are able to experience a VR attraction suitable for children. With the so-called “VR Portal“ the technology company of Spree Interactive from Nuremberg (Germany) has installed a custom “Spree Arena” free-roam VR station featuring its self-developed “Firefighter“ game as a suitable VR experience for the youngest generation. The company presented the concept of the free roam VR station at the IAAPA Expo Europe in Paris last year (cf. EAP 6/2019). In the installation in Aurora, up to ten persons can enjoy the detailly designed Firefighter VR experience simultaneously.
Scott Hussey, park owner, comments: “We love the VR Portal system as it allows for 10+ players to play the games together in a free-movement virtual reality environment. We see that as a huge upside on the number of guests who can enjoy a VR experience during their visit to our park as compared to other systems on the market.“ (eap)
