USA: Color Factory – A Colorful Art Experience
Attracting visitors with colorful and interactive art presentations, Color Factory exhibitions have already established themselves with two permanent exhibitions in New York and Houston since the opening of the first Color Factory pop-up in San Francisco (2017). For the experiences, Color Factory collaborates with international artists, art institutions, non-profit organizations, and brands to create art presentations that everyone can enjoy. In creating each experience, the artists draw inspiration from the colors of each city.
For the newest Color Factory location, which will open in Chicago on June 17, a color palette of 36 colors, the “Chicago Color Palette”, has been created which is based on photographs by Chicago photographer Akilah Townsend such as the blue-green of Lake Michigan, which was used for a giant ball pit. These photographs and all 36 colors will be displayed in an exhibit by Edra Soto in the lobby of the Willis Tower, where the new color museum will be located.
“We were so excited to partner with Akilah and Edra to create a color palette that uniquely reflects the city, capturing the magic and diversity of Chicago. Our guests will experience these 36 colors throughout Color Factory Chicago: from the exhibits within the space to a custom outdoor installation at Willis Tower. We hope the palette will inspire people to explore this wonderful city and to celebrate all the shades that make it so special,” said Tina Malhotra, CEO at Color Factory. (eap)
