USA: Full Throttle Opened at SixFlags Magic Mountain in California
The name says it all, because „Full Throttle“ is the name of the newest rollercoaster of SixFlags Magic Mountain in California. Opened at the end of June, the new coaster built by Premier Rides (cp. EAP 6/2012) features, at a height of 48 meters (160 ft), the highest loop worldwide. The track features a total of three launches, the first of which accelerates the trains from zero to 112 kmh (70 mph), with a diversified journey to follow. After a dive loop that drops the trains into a tunnel, they are dramatically decelerated to a stop. The trains are then launched in reverse, taking riders back up to the high point of the dive loop. From the highest point of the loop the trains drop forward and are magnetically launched, catapulting riders through and out of the tunnel to run along the rest of the track … Even experienced riders who only rarely admit really new ride experiences confirm that “a moment unlike any other on roller coasters awaits you [on Full Throttle].” (eap)
