USA: Great Wolf Resorts Plans First Facility in Florida

According to US media reports, the indoor waterpark operator Great Wolf Resorts has purchased a 23 million US dollar (around 21 million euros) property from Garrison Orlando Land LLC last week to build Florida's first Great Wolf facility. The 20-hectare site is located near the shopping and entertainment area Disney Springs in Orlando. Apart from a waterpark, preliminary plans provide for the construction of an 800-room hotel, several restaurants und diverse leisure facilities. The opening of the Florida-based resort is part of Great Wolf's further expansion plans in new markets.

Currently, the company operates 12 facilities in several US states and Canada. Two further resorts are under construction at the moment. While Great Wolf Lodge Colorado Springs is expected to welcome its first visitors at the end of this year (cf. EAP News from August 3, 2015), Great Wolf Lodge Southern California is scheduled to open on February 19, 2016. (eap)
