USA: LEGOLAND® California Resort Unveils America’s Tallest LEGO® Building

In due time for today’s U.S. Independence Day LEGOLAND^® California Resort opened last week the tallest LEGO^® building of the country so far – the One World Trade Center as its miniature model. The replica of the well-known skyscraper is located in the newly remodeled “Miniland New York”, which forms part of the park’s “Miniland U.S.A.”. The One World Trade Center LEGO^® model is built with more than 250,000 LEGO^® bricks and weighs more than 1,000 pounds. With the 26 feet (approx. eight meter) high tower it is the tallest LEGO^® miniature model in the U.S. Furthermore, guests can use for the first time a special LEGO® tower viewer giving them a skyscraper view of “Miniland U.S.A.”. The area also features LEGO^® model replicas of the 9/11 Memorial’s twin pools, the grove of memorial trees and the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, which opened in March this year. (eap)
