USA: LEGOLAND Florida Resort Introduces New App “to Go” for Kids
“When will we arrive?” is a frequent question parents hear from their children on the way to a theme park, in this case to LEGOLAND Florida Resort. To entertain young guests during the car ride, the park recently presented its new “Quest to Legoland” app for tablets and smartphones, appropriate for children aged six to twelve.
The car’s route is generated in real-time via Google Maps data and the family truck is converted into a LEGO car, designed in a pirate, adventure, kingdom or beach theme and following a LEGO mini-figure to the resort. During the journey, landmarks such as national parks, historic places, water bodies or mountains pop up on screen providing interesting facts suitable for children. Furthermore, kids can unlock themed missions, play car games or answer trivia questions. Thanks to the app’s individual navigation, each tour is unlike the other – drivers just need to select an alternative route. A new opportunity to entertain impatient, forward-looking children on the back seats. (eap)
