USA: New “Harley Quinn Crazy Coaster“ at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Now Open
Visitors to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo/California can now try out the park’s new “Skywarp” attraction dubbed “Harley Quinn Crazy Coaster”, which officially opened this week after a construction period of some 18 months (c.f. EAP News from Sept 1st, 2017).
The ride, which features a compact track layout shaped by a Moebius loop consisting of two Immelmann inversions (read also our trend report on “Compact Coaster Layouts” in EAP, 3/17), is the prototype of the coaster concept of US manufacturer Skyline Attractions, which was presented in 2016 and which is distributed by sales partner Ride Entertainment. A total of 32 passengers can be accommodated in the two train wagons, reaching a capacity of 800 persons per hour. The wagons initially rock back and forth, building up to full speed before completing several forward and reverse rotations through the twin Immelmann inversions.
The two wagons appear to compete against each other in a mirror-inverted fashion, creating an additional thrill factor for riders. The “Skywarp” coaster features one ride with one single drive system, making maintenance easier. (eap)
